A member asked:

Can a lot of alcohol consumption lead to frequent heart palpitations or unusual rhythms even in the most healthy person or unhealthy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alcohol: As your body is trying to clear the alcohol, you often lose both potassium and magnesium, both of which if out of balance can cause heart palpitations. Alcohol is also a neuro toxin, liver toxin, and makes you prone to a lot of health problems. If you or someone you know is having these symptoms after alcohol, i would recommend a blood test and being evaluated by your doctor.
