Can food allergies cause digestive symptoms like burping and bloating?

Symptoms: Symptoms of food allergy include: hives, itchiness, lip/tongue/throat swelling, breathing problems, belly pain, nausea, vomiting, passing out. Burping and bloating in and of themselves are probably not food allergy related. Celiac disease can be manifested by non specific abdominal complaints.

Yes, but...: Food allergies cause digestive symptoms more like nausea, vomiting, cramps and diarrhea. Sometimes they cause swelling of the esophagus resulting in a sensation of food getting stuck as you swallow. Burping & bloating are symptoms of poor digestion as seen in digestive enzyme deficiencies. The most common of these is lactase deficiency that results in lactose intolerance.
