A member asked:

Ciprofloxacin drops - are they safe for children?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

For ears? yes: I assume your child has swimmer's ear, and you were prescribed ciprofloxicin drops. There has been some controversy (largely debunked) that quinolones cause cartilage anomalies. Especially placed in the ears, they kill off bacteria, and very little is taken internally. They should be absolutely fine.
