Not safe for anyone!: I consider ciprofloxacin (and cousin compounds like levofloxacin) among the most unsafe drugs. I never prescribe them unless there are no other options (rarely the case). It causes an unacceptable rate of serious long-lasting side effects. Plus, Cipro has been found to increase risk of seizures in epileptics.
