Fatty liver/pregnanc: Is a real life threatening condition which occurs in third trimester or immediately following delivery
it is caused by fatty acid metabolism disturbed by mitpchondria in the mother due to deficiency in lchad, (long chain 3hydroxy-co enzymea dehydrogenase) enzyme.
Condition used to be thought fatal in the past but aggressive treatment by stabilising mother with support with IV fluids and blood prod.
