Depends on the cause: Palpitations are often due to premature ( "skipped") beats, and tend to resolve on their own. Sometimes improving sleep habits, minimizing caffeine, and reducing mental stress can help a lot. Medications usually help, but may cause fatigue or drowsiness. If the underlying cause is a more sustained rhythm irregularity, lifestyle is usually less relevant, and medications are often needed.

Palpitations: Simple steps to try are cutting out coffee, tea, smoking and alcohol, learning to meditate and if these don't work, consult your doctor to be checked.
