A member asked:

Does infection from breast feeding make you have lumpy breasts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It Can: Breast infections associated with breastfeeding may take the form of diffuse swelling (mastitis) and/or fluid-filled lumps that require drainage (abscess). Of course, the breast may get very "lumpy-bumpy" with breastfeeding without any infection. Either way, the lumps should resolve after treatment of the infection and discontinuation of breast-feeding.
