A member asked:

Are heart flutters due to eating a lot of chocolate?

Possibly: There is a little caffeine in chocolate, so if you eat a lot of it you can get enough caffeine to cause palpitations.

Palpitations: Flutters, or palpitations, are essentially irritated or overstimulated heart cells that can fire, much like a muscle twitch, and everyone has different triggers for these. I usually recommend that people avoid all forms of caffeine to see if they go away, and chocolate can be a commonly overlooked source.
