A member asked:

Difference between vicodin and tramadol?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Alot: Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and Acetaminophen (tylenol). It is a schedule 3 controlled substance. Tramadol works for pain in several ways including binding to the same receptors as hydrocodone (the mu receptor). I would use tramadol for mild to moderate pain and vicodin for moderate to severe pain.
