If excessive blood: If bleeding is severe and prolonged enough to compromise blood volume, then drops in blood pressure can be the result. Vasovagal episodes can produce reflexive causes of low blood pressure. However, if menstrual bleeding is that severe, gynecologic consultation is mandatory.
