A member asked:

My mother has stage 14 ovarian cancer. she refused chemo and has a new tumor. she has ascities and can't walk. will she live 6 months?

Probably not: Aggressive untreated ovarian cancer leads to short survival. People with what is termed a poor performance status (inability to walk, etc.) have very short survival rates.

Probably not: End stages of ovarian cancer are usually accompanied by ascities. The fluid buildup in the abdomen can be very uncomfortable as well as eventually restricting breathing and other bodily functions. Besides the visible tumors that your mother has there is likely a large tumor burden in the abdomen. The prognosis, unfortunately, is poor.
