Older people: Substance abuse is found in older people, but many hide it. Alcohol abuse can be a big one, perhaps discovered when the partner who has been "covering" for the active drinker becomes ill or dies. Prescription drug abuse can be a problem also. I imagine as more "baby boomers" grow into "older people, " there will be additional commonly abused substances coming to light.
