Too broad: The answer to your question depends on too many variables that unknown; what sports/activities cause pain, what is your level of fitness, what is your age, what is your sex and what is your frequency of activity to list only a few. In general it helps to gradually transition into a sporting activity, to train and exercise the appropriate muscles in preparation for the activity.
