How can prostatitis affect diagnosis of prostate cancer?

Elevated PSA: Prostatitis can cause elevation of psa, which may suggest prostate cancer. Needle biopsy of the prostate and examination of the tissue by a pathologist may be needed to settle the issue.

Elevate PSA: Prostatitis can elevate a man's psa level and lead to biopsy. If a man has symptoms of prostatitis and an elevated psa, usually we treat the prostatitis first and then recheck psa. For more: @thepeedoc www.Peedoc.Com.

Can elevate PS: Prostatitis can elevate the psa. Treat the prostatic is first and then repeat the psa. If still elevated then proceed to biopsy. If cancer is found patients with chronic prostatitis tolerate radiation therapy less well than those without.
