For treatment...: Acute bronchitis is usually caused by an infection, either bacterial or viral. Your doctor can determine the etiology of your acute bronchitis so you can get the proper therapy. If the infection is bacterial, you will need antibiotic therapy and, if viral, you will need therapy to control your symptoms. Your doctor can help with all of this so see your doctor for evaluation.
