How does language develop between 13 and 18 months?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Toddler language: Language development is exciting at this age. Babies go from a few nouns such as mom, baba to expanding their vocabulary greatly naming things and then to use of verbs - "eat cookie". Closer to 18 months may begin a few pronouns such as "me" or "you". While much of language now is from hearing the words, there is still a component of watching how the speaker moves mouth and lips that infants use.
