How can i reduce my child's anxiety during a needed hospital stay?

See below: Talk with your child about the stay. How long it may be, what it is for, what may happen during the stay, etc. You may be able to visit the hospital prior to the admission. Stay with your child during the admission.

Your hospital stay: if it is a parent who needs to be in the hospital for a "needed stay", then letting the child know close to the planned stay is important. Calm reassurance and the child visiting the hospital before & during your stay is also helpful. For a child who needs to go into the hospital, it is recommended that you talk with your pediatrician/hospital staff to help allay your child's fears through proven methods.
