See below: Usually the bone is aligned and held in place with hardware ankle fractures are usually aligned and held in place with a plate and screws tibia shaft fractures are often treated with a rod within the bone sometimes aided with the use of locking screws.

Fractured leg: The treatment for a fracture leg depends on the location of the fracture and the displacement of the fractured fragments. A simple nondisplaced fracture can be treated in a cast and more complicated fracture may require a rod insertion or plates and screws.
