A member asked:

How does medicare work with my other health insurance?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Primary: If you are an eligible medicare beneficiary, medicare is the primary payor. All bills will be sent to medicare first. Whatever isn't paid by medicare is sent to your secondary insurance for reimbursement. The remaining after your secondary insurance has processed the claims is your responsibility. Even if you have a medicare advantage plan, the government will process its part of the claim first.
