A member asked:

Why would women need to have pap tests after a hysterectomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They don't: The cervix is removed during hysterectomy so there is nothing to sample for a pap smear. They still require periodic exams because they still can get ovarian and vaginal cancers.
