Why can't i drink alcohol when i take the drug gemfibrozil?

Liver, triglycerides: If you are taking gemfibrozil, it's to lower triglycerides. Alcohol increases triglycerides. In addition, both Gemfibrozil and alcohol can adversely affect the liver.
