Both: Physical activity is a wonderful tonic... It does both! not only does it boost energy levels by increasing metabolism, improving muscle tone, and changing how energy is processed, but it alters how the brain works and allows better and longer sleep. Exercise releases endorphins and other hormones in the brain that actually do some of the work that sleep does for the brain, helping both.
