A member asked:

How is farsightedness corrected by lenses?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Convex lens: The farsighted (hyperopic) eye is too short. The rays of light entering the eye are not bent sharply enough to converge and form an image on the retina; rather, the image is formed behind the retina. A convex lens (shaped like a magnifying glass) adds some light-bending so the rays are bent more sharply, and the image is formed on the retina. A picture of this is much clearer.
