A member asked:

Is internal iodine safe to take if you have hyperthyroidism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Should be all-right.: This should be no problem since the thyroid uses iodine anyway and it prevents goiter. In fact, radioactive iodine (i-131) is used to treat cases of hyperthyroidism. You should see your doctor however, as this might be toxic if taken in too high a dose.
