It taste good: Mangosteen is a fruit grown in thailand. At this point almost all studies have been done in a laboratory and there is little human research to indicate how mangosteen supplements or juice, by itself, would influence the prevention or how it would be useful in the treatment of various cancers, including breast, lung, and liver.

Mangosteen: If you believe the companies selling mangosteen, it's useful for every condition under the sun. :-) however, studies and evidence tables are lacking for most conditions, so it's hard to quantify. I did find one paper supporting potential usefulness in breast cancer -- mangosteen caused cell death in breast cancer cell lines: http://tinyurl.Com/mkxa6cu this was in the lab, not in human patients.
