1 and 2: Type 1 is usually referred to as juvenile diabetes. It results from the pancreas not producing enough insulin. Type 2 diabetes results from our body developing insulin resistance, preventing the body from using the insulin and sugar it naturally has. Insulin resistance usually develops as a result of being overweight. It can develop in both adults and children.
