A member asked:

What makes the heart skip a beat?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Extra beats: What the general population refers to as "skipped beats" are mostly premature beats that come from the right ventricle. These make the next normal beat delayed; when the next beat comes, the volume of blood in the left ventricle is more than its usual load and the heart beats with a strong beat, this leads to the feeling of "skipped beat". These are mostly benign.
