Imperfection: We are imperfect creatures and so are our hearts. The heart beats almost perefectly regularly 24 hours/day, 7days/wk and never takes a break--when it does, the person is in trouble. Lets say your heart beats 80/min =115, 200 beats/24 hrs. At this many beats every day, I am amazed it is not skipping/having extra beats more often. It happens to everyone. If bothersome, consult doc. Good luck.

Irregular rhythm: Skipping or dropped beat known as av blockage of the heart has a number of causes including med induction like beta blockers, electrolyte disturbance or inherit cardiac issues. You might want to have some tests including an ekg to determine if this is true. A cardiologist would be helpful as well.
