Absolutely: One can never separate the effects of emotions and thoughts on any painful condition. If your thoughts are predominantly negative, the body will tend to pump out more stress hormones and adrenaline which causes the muscles to tense and which will cause more pain. This is why i recommend yoga so much; it calms the mind and allows a trust in the body to develop.
