Yes: Some tumors will cause lower back pain. If i see a young person who is having new onset of back pain or if i see a middle aged person with no history of lower back pain with new onset back pain, i will search for potential tumors as a cause. Thankfully it is uncommon but something not to miss.

Yes: Most LBP is not serious and goes away with time, Warning signs include numbness, weakness, urinary or defecating problems, weight loss, or fever. If you are older, risk factors for cancer or have a cancer that is concerning also. If any concerns or symptoms persist you should see your doctor.

YES: Low back pain can definitely be from a tumor. Metastasis from the prostate, breast, lungs, GI tract and kidneys are the most common. In fact, the spine is the 3rd most common place for cancer to spread.
