Is it possible to get skin cancer/skin disorder at 13 years old?

Yes: That is really two questions. The answer to both is yes. There are a variety of different types of skin cancer. The first and foremost sign of skin cancer in kids would be a change in the shape, size or color of a skin growth, including both moles and birthmarks. Also any new changes not previously noted. It is good to check all areas of the body, including the bottom of the feet.

Absolutely: Yes, it is certainly possible, especially if the 13 year old is fair-skinned and has a light skin complexion. Additional risk factors include a heavy sun exposure without protection, and a family history of melanoma.
