VIRAL INFECTION: Fever and headache in a 7 year old is almost always the result of a viral infection. The normal period for these symptoms to last is about 7 to 10 days. If there is no pain in the ear or pus in the nose, symptomatic treatment with tylenol (acetaminophen) or another anti-inflammatory drug is appropriate. If the symptoms last longer than 10 to 14 days, please consult your pediatrician.

7 yrs old fever/head: It depends on his age, how high is the temp, how severe is the headache. Are there any other symptoms, is he able to bend his neck all the way down, does he act and look sick.If in doubt have him get checked by his doctor. It may be a viral infection or something more serious.

Fever and headache: Headache is a common acompaniment of fever and should disappear when the temperature becomes normal. If he has no other symptoms, there's no need to worry. However, if he has vomiting and diarrhea and not well hydrated, stiff neck, disorientation and lethargy, please have him evaluated by his pediatrician.
