A member asked:

Whats prognosis for cofs?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Premature ageing: Cofs syndrome has many different sybtypes. However, in general, type ii, which is the abbreviation you use, shows very limited neurologic development, and most patients do not live beyond 8-10 years of age. It is an inherited disease (autosomal recessive) which is caused by a defect in a dna repair mechanism. Sorry -- this is a very rare and lethal disease.
