Buy a good cook book: The american heart association cookbook (http://www.Barnesandnoble.Com/w/new-american-heart-association-cookbook-american-heart-association/1101890198?Ean=9780345461810) is a good starter - it's $7.99 for a paperback version. Good for you for pitching in to help!

Coronary disease: There are many types of heart disease. I am assuming that you mean coronary disease which is strongly related to diet. For the coronary disease patient, it will be important to limit fat intake and lower cholesterol. Fat should represent 30% or less of the total calories eaten. Learn to read food labels. The american heart association has a cookbook that may be helpful.
