A 34-year-old member asked:
what are uses of resistin in cardiovascular diseases?
1 doctor answer • 1 doctor weighed in

Dr. Bennett Werneranswered
Cardiology 44 years experience
None: Resistin (the hormone reported to cause Insulin resistance in adipose cells) is not a direct target of any available clinically used medicine yet although research has demonstrated that its levels are affected by various diabetic medications (see: http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/pubmed/11201732). Insulin resistance is part of the "metabolic syndrome" which is an important cv risk factor.

Atherosclerotic blockages do not disappear with naturopathic therapy. See your primary physician or cardiologist for proven therapies.
