Does tonsillectomy affect fertility?

No.: In general ear, nose and throat infections will not have an impact on fertility in any direct way. There may be rare situations such as tonsillar tuberculosis that may have a fertility impact, but this is due to the tuberculosis, not to the tonsillitis per se.

No: I was asked this a lot in san diego by mexican families. Also I have been asked this by south american families. There is a misconception about this phenomenon in certain cultures, but no medical evidence to show any impact on fertility from tonsillectomy.
