Not a fun time: Tonsillectomy can be a challenge for kids to recover from, but it is even worse in adults. Anyone who tells you it will be easy is not being realistic. You will likely experience strep-throat-like pain (and also referred ear pain) for between 1 and 4 weeks-- figure on not being back to normal for 3-4 weeks. Not to scare you, as it really helps some, but it isn't walk in the park for adults.
