Bronchitis/asthma: Smoking causes irritation of the airways and leads to bronchitis/asthma. Air sac damage emphysema occurs later. Smokers who develop early symptoms have a faster loss in lung function on than the "average" smoker. Asthma should be treated with "step-wise" asthma treatment with inhalers and other meds. Smoking cessation can be treated with nicotine supplements and other strategies. Get checked up.
