What can you do with an m.d. but without a residency?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

General practice: All states require the medical degree plus an internship to practice medicine. None require a residency. Most hospitals require a residency for specialty and most even family doctor privileges. So you can expect the ability to practice as a gp out of your own office, but not work in a hospital.
