A member asked:

When can newborns start having water instead of just breast milk or formula?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

10 to 12 months: No need to give water until 10 months. Give the water in a sippy cup. If a baby is constipated then small amounts of water can be given earlier after checking with the pediatrician. Breast milk and formula provide plenty of water. Also baby foods such as fruits and vegetables have a high water content.
