A member asked:

Can a baby survive at 28 weeks if born that early?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes;Depending: The survival of an infant at 28 wks is possible at most centers that are prepared for such deliveries. Early recognition & aggressive treatment of respiratory & other issues are needed & with rx they can make it.However, some deliver prematurely because of problems such as infection, maternal hypertension, etc. & the degree of instability caused by these issues can influence outcome.
