Weeks, months, years: A deviated septum is usually repaired after the swelling has gone away. Then it depends on you and the surgeon who is going to fix it. It is an elective surgery and so can be scheduled to be done when it is convenient. Check on the length of the recovery period, and the limitations placed on your activity afterwards until recovered. Then you can plan your activities knowing what to expect.
