Same but diffrent: The troponin is part of the heart muscle that regulates contraction. There are 3 components trop i, trop t and trop c. When damage is doneto the heart you can measure the levels of t-i and t-t . Trop i is 90% sens and 95 specific. Trop t is around 85% sensitive and 80% specific. They rise over 3 to 6 hrs and peak at 24 hrs . Can stay up to 10 days. Both are used to diagnose and risk stratify ami

Not much: They're variants of a cardiac specific enzyme used to identify injury in heart muscle. Some labs measure one and some measure the other. Neither one has a clear advantage over the other.
