Autism doesn't just: go away at a specific age but maybe your boyfriend learned ways to deal w/his situation or he was mis-diagnosed. In any case, seeing a couples counselor can help you both understand one another better and raise the probability of a happy life together. Peace and good health.

Labels can be wrong: I have found over time that some carry labels like autism that were convenient to use at some point but not valid. Some of the developmental variations of childhood are hard to understand, others have mild forms of autism that integrate well in life as they develop coping skills.Many of these problems have a genetic basis and can be passed to offspring. I'm afraid the choice must be yours.
