Nerve or muscle: This fleeting symptom may be a pinched intercostal nerve which runs between two ribs. It could also be an irritable/irritated ribcage muscle. This would be somewhat tender. Avoid strain of the chest muscles or ribs and see your physician if symptoms persist.
