Urgent Reevaluation!: While impossible to diagnose without examining/taking a history, for general information it is worthwhile knowing that a tonsil infection severe enough to make it difficult to swallow can require drainage of an abscess. This can become serious, and requires urgent evaluation either in the clinic that gave the antibiotics, or in an emergency room, whichever is quicker.
