Tonsil: Hard to tell from your description. You should have a culture but in some cases the problem is lower in the throat or a sign of silent acid reflux

Pharyngeal pain: Why do you have remaining tonsil tissue after a TONSILLECTOMY? Please return to your ENT for evaluation and explanation. You throat doesn't hurt normally or when you swallow saliva? It only hurts when you swallow solid food or certain foods?
