Not immediately: It is not unusual for one's period to occasionally behave unpredictably ... even coming two weeks early. Usually things return to your "normal" within a cycle or two. It is often the result of hormonal or lifestyle changes including stress, nutrition, lack of sleep. However, if it is the beginning of ongoing more frequent or heavy bleeding, an eval with your doctor is needed. Best wishes:)

Common problem: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test . There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle.
