Is it too early to schedule an appointment with my gyn? my period is 7 days late. it's always very regular. the two pregnancy tests i've taken at home are negative. i'm concerned on what's causing my period to be late. is it too early to be worried?

It is early to be worried but you may consult your gynecologist for some simple tests if you wish. Occasional variations in your cycle are not unusual, even when you have previously been very regular. You should consult your gynecologist if this continues and you miss a second period.

Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.
