Possible neuropathy: If you are overweight, there is a chance you could be developing diabetes and diabetic neuropathy as a complication. Also, spinal compression on a nerve can lead to neuropathy as well. A burning sensation on the legs, followed by numbness, is the usual course for neuropathy.
